Risoluzione schermo e bordi neri

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Risoluzione schermo e bordi neri

Un saluto a tutti i partecipanti,

Ho un problema con la risoluzione dello schermo su Slackware 14.

Impostando la risoluzione a 1024 x 768, si attiva la risoluzione ma con bordi neri di circa 2 dita si spessore ai lati. Questo mi è succeeso anche con la versione 13.

Per completezza posto l'output di lspci -k

ma credo sia normale.. non è una risoluzione naturale, o per lo meno non è widescreen.. sei sicuro che sia quella la risoluzione massima del tuo schermo? Io credo che in realtà sia almeno 1366x768 - trattandosi di un portatile - se non addirittura 1280x1024, documentati..

per quanto riguarda le info da te postate: le nuove versioni di Xorg non funzionano più come prima, da un pezzo, ormai.. in pratica non usano più di default il file di conf

xorg.conf-vesa
vale solo come esempio e non viene affatto utilizzato (nome del file differente, avrai notato), infatti dall'out di lspci puoi vedere da te che la scheda video sta usando il driver i915 e non vesa. Questo è corretto, poiché immagino vorrai usare il driver specifico per la tua scheda e non quello vesa che è generico.

Inoltre, se come penso io quella non è affatto la tua risoluzione "naturale", prova a fare quanto segue..
Innanzitutto dai da terminale, con il tuo utente

quello che ti serve "prendere" dall'output di questo messaggio ora è il codice dato al tuo monitor.. sarà LVDS-XX se è un portatile.. VGA-XX se usi anche o solo schermi esterni ed infine HDMI-XX per monitor o TV collegate via HDMI..
Poi ti serve sapere la modeline per la risoluzione che ci interessa. Se come penso io è davvero 1366x768

in questo modo ottieni la modeline da impostare per questa risoluzione utilizzando xrandr o inserendo questo valore in xorf.conf

$ xrandr --addmode LVDS-0-1 1366x768_60.00

et voilà, ora dovrebbe scoppiare il monitor.. oppure dovresti avere la corretta risoluzione!! :D :D :D

P.S.: se hai il dual boot sul portatile, avvia un attimo windows e controlla la risoluzione che usa..
