Driver Intel graphic HD

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware64 postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti che trattano la Slackware32 o generali... per quelli usate rispettivamente il forum Slackware e Gnu/Linux in genere.

Dipende che modello. Ci sono dei driver implementati gia nei nuovi kernel, ma bisogna sempre vedere il modello preciso. 8)

Intel è l'unico produttore che produce, su Linux, solo driver opensource direttamente.
Tanto per dire, al momento Nvidia di driver opensource se ne sbatte altamente (i driver nouveau sono frutto di reverse engineering da parte di una comunità di sviluppatori indipendenti) mentre AMD rilascia almeno un po' di documentazione e supporta lo sviluppo dei driver open tramite uno (sparuto) gruppo di sviluppatori dedicato.
Il driver 3D Intel è sviluppato all'interno di mesa, e nelle ultime versioni ha fatto passi da gigante. Ovviamente, visto l'hardware in questione, non è che ci puoi far girare Doom 6 sopra, nonostante il buon supporto in Linux ;)

Beh certo lo sapevo, infatti quando l'ho acquistato non ho avuto molte pretese :), però lo vorrei con i driver a posto
Ma quindi non ho capito, non c'è un pacchetto che si installa a parte? Perchè nel file xorg.conf ho visto che la scheda viene vista non come "Intel" ma come "Vesa" :?

Prova a spostare il file xorg.conf e vedi nell'output di Xorg (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) se viene usato il driver Intel o quello Vesa. Senza il file xorg.conf, il server X prova ad autoconfigurarsi.

P.S. Ovviamente se hai una Slackware abbastanza recente...ora non ricordo di preciso da quando è iniziato il supporto a Hal (poi abbandonato...meno male) e a udev.

Nessun pacchetto a parte, dato che il supporto all'accelerazione hardware in X la trovi in xf86-video-intel e il supporto hardware all'accelerazione 3D lo trovi in mesa (entrambi presenti nel disco di installazione di Slackware).
Il file xorg.conf è un file di configurazione, non un log di autorilevamento periferche percui, se c'è scritto di usare come driver vesa, non è che Xorg non riconosca la scheda video come intel, ma gli è stato imposto di caricare vesa invece di arrangiarsi.
Se hai una Slackware più nuova della 13.0, il file xorg.conf è inutile (a meno di non necessitare di particolari configurazione non azzeccate in automatico da udev) e potresti eliminarlo, ma se ti riferisci al file xorg.conf.vesa quello è solo un file di esempio su come scrivere un file xorg.conf usando vesa come driver video (non viene letto da X all'avvio).
Per capire quale driver video viene effettivamente usato da X, spulcia il log di X in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Hai ragione 414N il file è xorg.conf.vesa! Credevo fosse il classico xorg.conf :D ....comunque il file log mi da questo:

credo che allora riconosca la scheda come intel... ma allora perkè sto caspita di compiz-fusion non mi funziona?? -.-
scrivo: compiz --replace cpp
e mi da sempre errore: compiz (core): couldn't load plugin cpp
Ho provato pure questi altri comandi:

questo:

e pure questo:

ma mi fa gli effetti grafici sballati (tipo che manca il riquadro, oppure mi fa un'eccessiva trasparenza, e cose così)
Ho aggiornato il file protobuf, il libcompizconfig...ecc ecc.. Le ho provate tutte...e ad un certo punto credevo fosse problema di driver intel...ma che caspita è allora? :(

Ma lasciando perdere ccp, che evidentemente non hai installato?
Io, ai tempi di Slackware 12.X usavo la seguente riga di comando per avviarlo all'interno di una sessione kde:

Essendo dotato di una scheda intel, credo tu possa tralasciare la roba relativa all'indirect rendering che mi era necessario usare su una scheda ATI.

Beh, sembra che non hai i permessi di scrittura in ~/.compiz. Prova a dare:

chmor -R u+w ~/.compiz
oppure semplicemente elimina la directory (~/.compiz intendo). Se non hai dati importanti, dovrebbe ricrearla lui.

ok grazie per la correzione.
Ma la directory compiz non c'è proprio! :-k ma non è che ci vuole qualke pacchetto attinente a "kde-window-decorator" che mi indica poi nell'errore?

La directory si chiama ~/.compiz e non ~/compiz (nota il '.'). Assicurati che puoi creare file o directory nella tua home, magari è solo un problema di permessi. Ad esempio, il comando

touch ~/casa
va a buon fine? Il file 'casa' viene creato?

si si, intendi che la directory è nascosta, lo so...ma non c'è! Forse non riesce a crearla :/ Ho provato a creare una directory come hai detto tu e me la crea......ma che caspita è a sto punto?
