ACPI non vede la batteria ....

ho un problema con l'ACPI: riesco a gestire il risparmio energetico, riesco a impostare il driver di scaling (ho il centrino) e tutto il resto... ma non vede assolutamente la batteria, e quindi non mi dice la carica rimanente.Quando è inserita, in /proc/acpi/battery/bat1/ state o info (non mi ricordo) mi dice che c'è stato un errore mentre si tentava di stabilire lo stato ....Il supporto acpi per la batteria è statico nel kernel.
questo è il dmesg ,gli errori sono alla fine ma posto tutto perchè magari c'è qualcosa degno di nota anche nella prima parte

Hai settato sicuramente male l'acpi. Allora con calma.
Se abiliti acpi controlla che non ci sia abilitato apm perchè posso fare conflitto. Poi nel kernel, alla voce acpi usa questa configurazione:

Ovviamente per il frequency scaling devi fare le opportune modifiche ma per quanto riguarda la prima parte ( ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) Support) che alla fine è quella che ti interessa, puoi lasciare così. Ciao ;)

qualcuno ha già visto qualcosa del genere ? ....

ho lo stesso portatile e per come la vedo io è un problema di supporto... secondo me non vede la batteria tutto lì.... tra l'altro hai provato gkrellm??? la cosa strana è che lui la vede alla grande!?!.... io non ho ancora risolto anche perchè se fai una googlata scopri che il problema è nella tabella dsdt usata dall'acpi. occorre crearne una ad hoc e patchare il kernel (c'è uno che lo ha fatto con il 1694) però io ne ne guardo bene :)...

che versione di kernel usi?
io ho problema con un acer travelmate 4001. ho installato patch di acpi e smart batteries ma con il 2.6.13 non vuole proprio andare mentre con il 2.6.10 tutto ok

ok scusate l'errore in effetti mi ricordavo male... neppure gkrellm la vede... comunque sto leggendo alcune cose sulla dsdt e non sono più tanto dubbioso sulla ricompilazione della stessa:

in pratica quando l'acpi non vede una cosa è bene controllare la compilazione della dsdt con:

#> dmesg | grep -i dsdt

se si ottiene:

ACPI: DSDT (v001 INTEL ALVISO 0x06040000 MSFT 0x0100000e) @ 0x00000000

significa che è stata compilata con un compilatore microsoft e (ma che strano...) non è conforme allo standard acpi... quindi occorre usarne una compilata ad esempio con il compilatore intel.... al momento mi sto informando ... vi farò sapere...

ACPI: DSDT (v001 ACER   Kestrel  0x20020909 MSFT 0x0100000e) @ 0x00000000
la cosa strana è che la dsdt è ricompilata con il compilatore intel iasl e "dovrebbe" essere caricata con la initrd come spiegato sul precedente link del forum gentoo.

Con il ker 2.6.10 funziona senza modifiche
