Salve a tutti! Visto che con xine e noatun i dvd dvx vanno un po' a scatti (ho un pc
preistorico su cui pero' funziona benissimo la mia 10.2) ho installato mplayer e relativi pacchetti (lame, libdvdread, libdvdcss e tutti i codec...il pacchetto all....mi pare). Quando apro un file multimediale pero' mi compare il seguente errore:

Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device

Ho provato a controllare i vecchi post e ne ho trovato uno che suggeriva di
andare su Preferences->Video e cambiare il driver in XV. Cosi' ho fatto ma il rpoblema e' sempre lo stesso. Ho provato ad avviare da riga di comando gmplayer per vedere se ci sono problemi e questo e' il risultato:

innanzitutto direi di provare a fare questo:

mi dava lo stesso messaggio di errore di prima!

Ho inoltre cambiato i driver provandoli un po' tutti e all' inizio sembrava che mplayer funzionasse con file .mpg e .wmv......ma se provo ad aprire un dvd ecco cosa succede: all' inizio il dvd si apre e si sente e vede tutto perfettamente...ma dopo qualche secondo compare il seguente messaggio:

Too many packets in the video buffer: (4096 in 8280394 bytes)

Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:

Qui è molto probabile che sia un problema di dma non attivato
un semplice xine-check dovrebbe dartene la conferma

se non ti funziona devi abilitare il RealTimeClock nel kernel

digita mplayer -vo help
così avrai la lista degli output disponibili.
io con la mia scheda video ( una vecchia riva 128 ) ottengo buoni risultati con
mplaer -vo xvidix nomedelfilevideo
oppure
mplayer -nocache -vo xvidx nomedelfilevideo
fai le tue prove da root, oppure esegui mplayer con set user id attivivato

anche io ho un problema simile; ho aggiornato mplayer all'ultima versione presente nel repository, ma quando lancio gmplayer la console mi restituisce questo errore:

Ho tentato tutte le soluzione suggerite in questo post, ma nulla da fare. Premetto che con la precedente versione tutto funzionava alla perfezione. Il kernel è un 2.6.15.4 con RTC compilato staticamente, e la scheda video è una GeForce fx-5700 con accelerazione grafica abilitata tramite drivers nvidia. Any idea? Have a nice day
