fstab per lettore mp3

Dovrei connettere al pc un lettore mp3 e leggendo i vari topic non sono riuscito a capire come dovrei modificare il file fstab. Ho letto che per cercare di capirlo dovrei digitare:
tail -F /var/log/messages
