alsamixer & slack-current [risolto]

Ho installato la slackware current, e quando vado a configurare l'audio(alsaconf, ho una sound blaster live) mi riconosce la scheda e mi mostra il driver corretto (emu10k1), ma se do "alsamixer", mi ritorna questo errore:

alsamixer:function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument
qualcuno sa come si può risolvere? per ora sto usando aumix(funziona), ma per console preferisco decisamente alsamixer...
ho letto in giro che qualcuno ha avuto questo problema passando tra alsa 1.0.9 a 1.0.10... e sembra che abbiano risolto patchando un po' il sorgente di alsa (se ho ben capito)... ma pensate ci possa essere un altro modo?

Si vede che non sai il secondo comandamento di Slackware:
- mai aggiornare alsa

Io ho avuto una serie ampia e pittoresca
di problemi, fra cui uno simile al tuo. Ho risolto
passando al kernel 2.6.16-rc1, mentre con gli ultimi
2.6.14 e tutti i 2.6.15 non funzionava bene alsa.
Tu hai il kerneo della serie 2.4?

uso una slackware current scaricata e masterizzata 3 giorni fa.
kernel 2.4.32
alsa 1.0.10
Si vede che non sai il secondo comandamento di Slackware:
- mai aggiornare alsa
...no, non lo conoscevo... ma non sarebbe cambiato molto, dato che è "arrivato" con la current...
dici che se ricompilo il kernel includedo alsa come statico non dovrei avere più problemi? tu hai detto che hai provato con il 2.6.15... intendi il 2.6.15.4? giusto per sapere, dato che ho visto nel changelog che è stato modificato il driver emu10k1.... così evito di provare uno ancora in rc...

Io ho fatto un sacco di prove, figurati che in una serata
ho ricompilato il kernel 5 o 6 volte alla ricerca
della combinazione giusta. Ma sia con alsa stabile
sia con le rc fallivo. Alsa riconosceva la scheda,
ma non tiuscivo ad attivare alsamixer.
Attualmente ho il 2.6.16 rc1 (se vedi il ChangeLog
del kernel, vedrai che nel 2.6.16 alsa è stato ritoccato
parecchio, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la mia scheda)
e alsa 10.0.11 rc2 e fila tutto liscio. Non ho usato
gli asla-driver, ma ho messo il supporto modulare nel kernel:

ok, ho risolto.
mi è bastato ricompilare il kernel 2.6.15.4 inserendo come modulare il supporto al suono, togliere alsa-driver e ora funziona benissimo

sapete spiegarmi come si fa?
io ho il kernel 2.6.13 e ho purtroppo aggiornato alsa (anche perchè comunque non funzionava) e adesso ho avuto questo messaggio di errore scritto nei post precedenti.
Non so proprio come fare
comunque piacere sono un nuovo utente del forum dato che ho messo la slack da pochi giorni.

Devi ricompilarti il kernel (c'è un how-to
anche qui in slacky sul tema, molto buono).
Certo, l'operazione è un tantino rischiosa
per uno che vede Slack per la terza volta,
ma ci siamo fatti tutti le ossa sbagliando...
Hai qualche idea sul tema "ricompilazione"?
