ati 8.28.8, radeon 9200se

uff... ancora problemi ati...
allora... ottengo dallo schermo i 1280x1024, ma fglrxinfo dice che ho caricato ancora i mesa, quindi niente accellerazione 3d...

sono su slackware curent, devo usare i driver "vecchi" perchè i nuovi non supportano la scheda video...
ho fatto la solita trafila: install da .run, compilo e installo il modulo da /lib/modules/fglrx...., nessun errore, do aticonfig --initial che mi modifica xorg.conf, e mi rivedo lo xorg.conf generato, ho messo questa riga in fstab:
shm /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
e non va...

vi posto xorg.conf e `cat /var/log/Xorg.o.log|grep WW`

Non e' che anche qui come su ubuntu, i driver ati proprietari sovrascrivono una libreria (libGL?), che bisogna poi rimettere "a manina" al suo posto, altrimenti non funziona opengl?

e in più ,non so perchè, ma ho dovuto mettere in
/etc/rc/rc.local

nel kernel drm dri sono abilitati? agp è abilitato? hai tolto tutti i moduli relativi alle altre skede video comprese la tua ati lasciando solo quella per il tuo cip?
comunque se cerchi ci sono altri forum dove ci sono da eseguire altri passaggi oltre aquelli che hai fatto tu soprattutto x il kernel visto che tu nn hai citato passaggi che riguardano la ricompilazione

grazie dei consigli... allora...

il problema della libGL.so.1.2 da sostituire non mi sembra ci sia, poichè riguardava versioni precedenti dei driver, comunque ho provato a sostituirla con quella che avevo usato per i vecchi driver e il risultato è lo stesso...

`mount` mi dice che shm è montato, che ha 252 mb e ne usa 0... la mia scheda però ha 128 mb, shm non doveva essere la memoria video?
avevo già provato l'altra riga in fstab, non ho notato differenze, viene montata uguale, stessa dimensione, niente accellerazione.

per il kernel (2.6.17.11):

il mio è così:CONFIG_AGP_ATI is not set infatti nn ci deve essere nessum modulo della ati e poi visto che ho un ati su via CONFIG_AGP_VIA=m
come ho scritto prima nessun modulo che riguarda la skeda video ma solo quello per il cipset

ok, proverò a ricompilarmi il kernel, per ora ho provato solo ad aggiungere il modulo intel_agp (il mio a quanto dice lshw usa i chip intel) l'ho caricato e ricaricato fglrx, ora ho agpgart che è usato sia da fglrx sia da intel_agp,
devi ricompilare il kernel andando in Device Drivers ---> Memory Technology Devices (MTD) ---> RAM/ROM/Flash chip drivers ---> e abilitare Detect flash chips by Common Flash Interface (CFI) probe
fatto e caricati.

ho lasciato solo i drm generici pure.

non ho ricompilato tutto il kernel, visto che era tutto modulo mi sono imitato a dare un make modules && make modules_install e poi un reboot...

il drm però non me lo lascia caricare...

il drm non ti serve, è una dipendenza del modulo radeon (i driver ati fatti dagli sviluppatori del kernel)
