Ho dato questi due comandi:

mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.17.13 -f reiserfs -r /dev/hda2

mkinitrd -k 2.6.17.13-smp -f reiserfs -r /dev/hda2
Il comando lilo -v -t restituisce questo:

The boot sector and the map file have *NOT* been altered.
Al riavvio il sistema si blocca con un kernel-panic e la prima riga è questa:

RAMDISK Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0
Poi "kernel-panic bla bla bla..."

Dov'è l'inghippo?

Per ora risolvo bootando col dvd e questa riga:

boot: huge26.s root=/dev/hda2 noinitrd ro
ma non posso farlo in eterno! :lol:

Mi sa che l'inghippo sia proprio quello che ti ho evidenziato.
Perchè non provi a dare lilo -v tralasciando l'opzione -t che è quella che impedisce a LILO di sovrascrivere l'MBR?

mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.17.13 -m reiserfs
mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.17.13-smp -m reiserfs -o /boot/initrd-smp.gz
poi in lilo.conf cambi l'initrd del kernel smp e lo reinstalli senza mettere il parametro -t come suggeriva Kronos
