(Vecchi Driver Nvidia) Slackware 12.0 problemi!

Ragazzi ma voi riuscite a compilare i driver Nvidia sulla 12.0? A me niente da fare! Source, headers sono installati correttamente!
L'installer Nvidia si blocca al riconoscimento della versione del kernel! :(

Li compili eseguendo direttamente lo script o con

./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-xx-pkg1.run --x-prefix=/usr --x-module-path=/usr/lib/xorg/modules

??

Li compilo come ho fatto sempre

/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-xx-pkg1.run senza nessuna opzione! :roll:

Credo che sia lo stesso problema che Submax ha segnalato a Pat! Solo che non riesco a risolvere con il suo fix! :cry:

Hmmm, I was under the impression that the nVidia driver would always be an all-in-one solution. I guess that's the danger of trusting the promises made by vendors of hardware plus proprietary software...

I think you should take this up with nVidia. I've known about the removal of config.h for some time (which is why -current stayed with 2.6.18.x for so long), but this is not a bug (perhaps a lack of foresight), nor can it be "fixed" here. Who knows what kind of actual bugs would be caused by adding in unofficial symlink like that...

BTW, I didn't agree with the removal of linux/config.h myself, given its long history in the kernel removing it was certain to cause problems. Mostly for unmaintained software, though...

io sono riuscito a installare senza problemi la versione x86-100.14.11 (che dovrebbe essere l'ultima) senza l'utilizzo di nessuna flag ne altro... semplicemente con sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-100.14.11-pkg1.run

in compenso non sono riuscito a installare la versione che usavo con slack 11 con i quali mi trovavo meglio (conky con i driver nuovi ha dei font enormi... :roll: )

La versione che uso io, l'unica che funziona bene sul chipset Nforce, è la 8756! Troppo datata! :cry:
Comunque il driver open nv lavora egregiamente, rinunciando all'OpenGl!
