Salve a tutti, ho provato a installare i driver NVIDIA dopo aver ricompilato il kernel 2.6.10, ma non riesco a installarli perché mi da il seguente errore:

 premetto che i sorgenti del kernel sono presenti e il link simbolico /usr/src/linux->/usr/src/linux-2.6.10 pure.
 
 Ho provato a installare i nuovi driver (6629 o qualcosa del genere) e non mi da nessun tipo di errore nell´installazione, ma quando avvio kde si blocca subito.
 Si accettano consigli, suggerimenti!!! Thanks

Che dice il /var/log/nvidia-installer.log?
 Prova a vedere se il file nascosto .config è presente in /usr/src/linux-2.6.10 pure (molte guide alla compilazione del kernel prescrivono di spostarlo-rinominandolo in /boot, mentre l´installer inVidia lo cerca e lo vuole lì in /usr/src/linux).

oops! Chiedo scusa dragonix.Io ho compilato col 2.6.10 il vecchio driver nvidia e mi è andata bene.

Utilizzando le 2 patch presenti nel thread sono riuscito a installare l´ultilma versione dei driver, adesso kde si avvia, ma non mi funzionano le applicazioni 3D (tipo alcuni screensaver).... bho

Io ho istallato il 2.6.10 su 4 macchine differenti e con i driver NVIDIA 6629 non ho mai avuto problemi, non ho applicato nessuna patch ai drivers.

Installavo i 5336 semplicemente perché non avevo visto che erano usciti i nuovi drivers e ancora non capisco perché installando i 6629 si blocca kde

La situazione aggiornata è la seguente: ho ricompilato il kernel 2.6.10 (non ricordo nemmeno cosa ho cambiato), ho reinstallato i drivers Nvidia 6629 senza nessuna patch e sembra funzionare tutto. Ho provato a mettere lo screensaver "Venti Solari (GL)" ma non funziona, quando avevo il kernel 2.6.5 con driver NVIDIA 5336 invece si.
 Potete provare se a voi funziona? Ovviamente con kernel 2.6.10 e driver NVIDIA 6629

Non ho uno screensaver che si chiama Venti Solari o la relativa versione inglese tipo sunwinds o solarwinds :-[
 Ne ho una 30ina di screensaver che funzionano tutti, li uso in random mode e nessuno si è mai piantato o ha osato non funzionare :-]
