Ciao a tutti,
ho installato Slackware 10.2 ma non funziona l'audio, ho provato a
con alsaconf e sembra riconoscere il mio hardware, ho controllato
il volume con alsamixer, ho provato con kde, windowsmaker e da consolle,
nulla da fare, NON esce niente.
L'hardware e` OK (con Win$ funziona).
La macchina e` un Dell Precision 650.
Il kernel installato e` raid.s.
Lo stesso problema lo avevo con Slackware 10.1 e non sono mai riuscito
a risolverlo, con Slackware 10.0 invece funzionava tutto benissimo.
Non sono un grande esperto ma con 10.1 avevo anche provato a ricompilare il kernel e alsa, il risultato e` stato sempre lo stesso.
Ho visto oggi che nella sezione download di slacky.it/scripts c'e` giusto uno script
per installare alsa da sorgenti (magari perchè non gli va quello incluso nel kernel-space).
L'ho provato.
In mancanza di indicazioni ho pensato che fosse prima necessario disinstallare
i pacchetti alsa proveninti dalla installazione di Slackware, cosi` ho rimosso
tutti i pacchetti alsa con pkgtools.
Ho fatto girare quindi lo script, pero` dava un errore durante la compilazione.
Ho quindi reinstallato i pacchetti alsa provenienti da Slackware e ho fatto
rigirare lo script. Questa volta e` andato fino in fondo e ora alsaconf dice di aver
trovato due schede audio uguali (prima ne trovava solo una).

ma se vado su "home" mi dirige su http://www.slacky.it/index.php e allora da li funziona tutto.

allora ricapitoliamo:
- alsaconf ti vede la scheda, e quando la selezioni non da errori;
- alsamixer funziona, alzi i volumi e togli il mute, la M, da tutti i canali;
- dall'avvio di kde in poi non senti nulla.

prova, dopo aver regolato i volumi con alsa, a dare si sente qualcosa?
quando vai nella sezione del pannello di controllo di kde dedicata al server sonoro, quale hai selezionato?[/b]

Ho provato con mpg321 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Right.wav,
non si sente nulla, l'output e` questo:

L'Harware selezionato nel panello di controllo KDE/Sound System/Hardware e`
"Autodetect", ho provato a mettere "Advenced Linux Sound System", non
e` cambiato nulla.

Hai provato ad usare Oss o Threaded OSS nel centro di controllo > Sistema Sonoro

occhio ,alsa-lib,alsa-oss e alsa-utils sono necessari , a meno di non installare pure questi da sorgenti;
ma il suono in console ti va? hai provato a fare come dice glpiana da console?

controlla di avere tolto tutti i fleg "M" (mute) in alsamixer. sono tutti attivati i volumi?

Se è un portatile con modem integrato controlla anche che non ti veda l'audio del modem al posto di quello della scheda audio...

E` una workstation dell precision 350 con disco SCSI il kernel
installato e` raid.s.

Calma, è una scheda ISA. Potrebbe avere qualche difficoltà in più rispetto a una semplice PCI, anche a livello di kernel.

Utilizzi il 2.4.31 di default?

Oppss.. mi sono sbagliato nella risposta precedente ho detto che il mio PC e` un Dell Precision 350, si tratta invece di un dell Precision 650.
L'audio e` integrato sulla matherboard.
