Alsamixer...

Ho ricompilato il kernel 2.6.13.2 per mettere alsa staticamente
e poi ho cancellato alsa-driver.

Quando però lancio alsamixer ricevo questo messaggio di errore:
alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument
Qualche idea?

i driver vanno instalati sempre mi pare........ dopo ogni compilazione!!!

No, perché se il driver per la mia scheda
lo inserisco direttamente nel kernel,
non serve usare alsa driver. Infatti, se
li installo, ricevo altri numerosi messaggio di errore
del tipo: "Error inserting snd_mixer:oss.
Unknown symbol in module, or
uhnknow parameter".

Ma se io installo staticamente i driver per la mia scheda audio, al riavvio questa dovrebbe funzionare? Perchè io riesco a farla funzionare solo mettendoli come moduli e caricandoli con alsaconf.

Sì che dovrebbe. La mia funziona, ho questo problema
solo con alsamixer. Ma Kmixer o Aumix funzionano.
Con Alsaconf configuri la scheda e modifichi in automatico
modproble.conf o modules.conf.
Ma non è che devi caricarlo ogni volta...

Ho installato i soliti, alsa-lib, alsa-oss e alsa-utils.
Non ho mai avuto questo errore con tutti i kernel
che ho compilato in precedenza, non capisco proprio...

Potrebbe essere anche un problema di versioni, hai installato le utils da tgz o da sorgenti?
Posta il file /etc/modprobe.conf (...o modules.conf, non ricordo mai! :oops: )

Beh, l'errore me lo da già al caricamento del sistema,.
Per cui da root o da user il risultato non cambia.
Ho provato a modificare alcune opzioni del kernel,
mettendo alcune voci come moduli (mi basta mettere
staticamente le voci relative al sequancer per i midi).

Però il risultato non cambia. Non mi raccapezzo,
mai successo coi kernel precedenti.
E come conclusione non riesco a sentire i cd...

OPs.. dimenticavo...
Allora, i pacchetti di alsa sono quelli ufficiali.
Alsa-driver ovviamente l'avevo compilato io
per il 2.6.13.2 e quando avevo il supporto audio
solo come M funzionava. Modprobe.conf è vuoto.
Ma se la scheda è supportata staticamente nel kernel,
ha importanza che ci sia in modprobe?
E in effetti alsaconf non me la trova,
ma ciò è normale perché con altri kernel
quando la impostavo staticamente non la trovava
e nondimeno la scheda funzionava,
appunto perché il modulo lo caricava il kernel

Non gli servono, non ha niente da caricare... li ha inseriti nel kernel.
Per alsamixer non saprei, è effettivamente strano come problema :?

Posta il contenuto delle directory /dev/snd e /proc/asound.
Anche quello di dmesg non sarebbe male... :wink:

Secondo il mio modesto parere c'è qualcosa che non va nei pacchetti alsa, 1.0.9a. Col kernel 2.6 nemmeno io sono riuscito a configurare alsamixer e mi dava il tuo stesso errore e in rete ci sono un sacco di persone che hanno questo problema senza che trovi qualcuno che l'abbia risolto.
