Problema avvio login grafico

Salve, ho configurato tutto come dice la "Slack for dummies" ma quando carica il server grafico il pc si pianta...eppure se faccio startx, funziona tutto alla perfezione...che sbaglio??

mhm tra runlevel 4 e runlevel 3 con startx la differenza sta in kdm (gdm, xdm), il manager di login. Provato a lanciare il manager di login? gdm(kdm) -daemon

se lascio da shell :

Posta il contenuto di /var/log/Xorg.o.log.

Che versione di Slack cerchi di installare? Se è la 10.2 gdm non è presente in quanto parte di Gnome, che è stato escluso. Per qualche assurdo motivo Pat non ha considerato nemmeno xdm... mah...

Ho fatto tutto come è scritto nella SlackForDummies...cioè ho modificato inittab e poi rc.4 come descritto nella guida...ma si pianta tutto...potrei provare a rinstallare kde? :roll:

Uff io direi proprio di no... reinstallare kde è un suicidio.. Secondo me devi controllare bene il file relativo al caricamento del tuo WM:

Quasi sicuramente non serve a niente, ma prova a togliere i commenti sul login grafico di GDM, tanto non c'è e male che vada lo salta..

Son riuscito a farlo funzionare...ho provato a riconfigurare l'xorg e ora va...il problema è la grafica...con login testuale, entrando da root, carica i driver nvidia..mentre con kdm no!!
Come mai??Eppure nell'xorg sono inseriti correttamente... :?
