rallentamento sistema e rendering delle schermate

ciao a tutti.
ho installato slack 10.2 qualche giorno fa e sto avendo problemi (ma solo da oggi... bah!): il sistema globalmente è molto, molto rallentato ho attivato tail - f /var/log/sys e questo è quello che mi dice:
I "problemi" non mancano e direi che sono imputabili al demone samba. Ora l'ho stoppato e pare andare meglio. Forse ne ho postato troppo, ma per un novellino come me, melius abundare 
Qualcuno ha qualche idea?
