Secondo me devi impostare una risoluzione delo schermo più alta dell'attuale 640x480.
Quindi edita xorg.conf. (come sai non sto su Slack e non posso aiutarti, ma smanettando sul centro di controllo dovresti poter cambiare risoluzione anche se mi sembra sia un' operazione da fare da root)
