lilo -v

ho installato il kernel precompilato 2.6.13 e ho notato che e' per P4 intel...avendo un AMD ho deciso di ricompilarlo x il mio processore e le cose nn sono andate benissimo..infatti al # lilo -v ho questo messaggio

/dev/sda durante l'installazione era inserito un penn disk .. (mai usato)
/dev/hda2 e' la partizione root ... vorrei partire con questa con il nuovo kernel
mi chiedevo se il messaggio al lilo -v , questo sotto e' un errore o posso riavviare e usare il nuovo kernel ?

nel REDAME.initrd quando ho installato il kernel precompilato ho dato il comando
mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.13 -m reiserfs
seguendo la Howto,

Perché si presuppone che tu inserisca staticamente il supporto per il tuo filesystem nel kernel.
In lilo.conf comunque hai indicato windows essere in /dev/sda1, il che non può essere, dato che hai detto che /dev/sda era il nodo per la pendrive. Modificalo in /dev/hda1 e riesegui lilo -v

esattamente il panic e dovuto a questo, che nn so spiegare..scusate la stupidita ma sbagliando s'impara

Quotando MAT hai inserito staticamente il supporto per il tuo filesystem? Se non lo hai fatto devi caricare l'initrd

nn l'ho inserito....
e ora sto formatando...ma mi voglio subito riposizionare come prima....come posso caricare initrd ....sarebbe interessante sapere cosa e'..

Non avevi bisogno di formattare... l'initrd si poteva creare anche sucessivamente paretendo con i disco 1 di slackware, con un procedimento simile a quello trattato in tutti i post che parlano di errori con Lilo e kernel panic (mount partizione, chroot, ecc...)

Meglio ancora che installare l'initrd potevi ricompilare inserendo i filesystem che ti interessavano staticamente
