Aiuto con ConkyRC

Ciao ragazzi.
Sto smanettando un po' con il mio conkyrc dopo che ne ho trovati alcuni in questi post:

Purtroppo gia' dallo screenshot si vede il problema...la sezione netstat diventa lunghissima e caccia fuori dallo schermo la sezione dei log di sistema, che si vede invece in questo screenshot:

Quindi volevo sapere come fare queste cose:
1) tagliare l'output di Netstat ad un massimo di, diciamo, 5 o 6 righe...
2) accorciare l'outoput di $color${execi 10 /usr/bin/tail -n 5 /var/log/messages | cut -c 23-} perche' certi log sono troppo lunghi e mi slargano tutto conky fino a quasi meta' schermo

Per il resto, mi chiedevo in questa riga:
$color${execi 2 netstat -e -p -t | grep ESTABLISHED | cut -c45-68,80-86,102-140}
cosa significasse questo: | cut -c45-68,80-86,102-140

Comunque per quel che vuoi tu devi agire sulle impostazioni di netstat, ma se non vedi tutte le connessioni in corso e capisci quale non sono quelle volute a che ti serve? Ne vuoi mostrare 5, e se la connessione "cattiva" è la sesta?
O le controlli tutte o lasci perdere :-)
Cerca di capire cosa vuoi da quel "coso", e dal comando netstat in particolare

Lo so ma lo schermo non e' infinito :)
Pensavo che 5 fossero meno di niente....

Sinceramente non so assolutamente come funziona Netstat, mi e' pero' sembrato utile sin da subito, perche' mostra le porte, gli host ed i programmi che usano quelle connessioni.

netstat è molto utile per verificare cosa succede nelle tue "porte".
Lancialo così da terminale

Se togli l'opzione a non ti mostra le porte che non hanno connessioni. Utile per vedere chi si collega al tuo pc.
Ma con l'opzione a vedi le porte aperte e l'interfaccia dei vari server/demoni, più di quanto faccia nmap

Tieni presente che in una normale attività su internet 5 risultati sono nulla

Vabbe' allora forse e' meglio se lo uso io a manina e lo tolgo da conky.

Sai come fare ad aggiungere un sensore di temperatura della cpu (e' dual core, quindi credo siano separati) e della mobo?
Ho installato lm_sensors....

Vorrei anche la temperatura dei 2 dischi...lm_sensors non centra vero? Ci vuole hddtemp o robe simili?

Non lo so, è da poco che ho un pc che ha questi dati e sinceramente non ho ancora provato niente

he he :D ... è conky, un system manager pseudo-testuale successore di torsmo da cui ha (in origine) derivato parte del suo codice...

in ogni caso se volete fare qualche ricerca sul forum se n'è parlato già in passato, io e altri (tra cui johnny) avevamo postato i nostri conkyrc più altri script usati per gestirlo...
