ffmpeg so slow when encoding

I've been using slackbuild of ffmpeg-20071003 over at SlackBuilds.org when i was using Slackware 12.0 and it encodes at 12-25fps when encoding x264 codecs. and since gslacky includes ffmpeg in its release, i tried it out. the ffmpeg version included in gslacky is ffmpeg-20080531. and it encodes so slow with a 1-3fps.

anyone can comment on this?

Maybe you need to recompile x264 too...

Please can you post the FFmpeg command line? However the GSlacky FFmpeg package is the same of Slacky.eu.

I'm sorry but i think i didn't make it clear. i was comparing the ffmpeg build here and the one from slackbuild.org. and it seems that the previous ffmpeg-20071003 [from slackbuild.org] encodes faster than the ffmpeg-20080531 [from slacky.eu]
