Question about SlackBuild

A lots of people here suggested to me to learn to build tgz packages myself. Well I really want to learn it, but I have some interesting questions.
Or maybe one and only...
When I have the source, it looks not so hard. But what about the packages which have an installer? Like Opera, Firefox... Or like useful KDE add-ons like MountISO?

For example, I want to have the latest KlamAV as tgz... Well I am watching the SlackBuild here on Slacky.it
But the version here is too old - 0.26... And there is a source for it. So ./configure && make && make install are OK in this case. But now I can download KlamAV as an installer. So what is the way in this case? First I thought that there is no way. But I have an Opera 8.50 package in tgz. Opera has the same installer if you download it from opera.com
Which makes me think that there is a way for building a tgz even when we have an installer and not the source...
Any help is wellcome, boys! ;)[/url]

I am so, so, so ashamed
There is an option to download KlamAV as a source also...
Please, excuse me! Really!
I didn't check till the bottom of the page. I thought... There are older versions only.
I will try it with KlamAV, but with the source ;)

Anyway the question still exists. What about packages with installer? Like Opera?
