Happy 28th birthday, Slackware!
a/aaa_base-15.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
Bump version numbers in /etc/os-release and /etc/slackware-version.
Not quite ready to freeze things for a release candidate, but getting there.
Initial email to root still needs a refresh.

A 62 anni mi chiedo se sarò ancora vivo quando sarà rilasciata la Slackware 16.0

Al netto del fatto ormai appurato che una prossima stabile non uscirà mai...
Offtopic: Sì dai non stiamo a raccontarcela, non fatevi illusioni non uscirà mai! 
Anzi, non fate come me, mettetevi il cuore in pace e passate a current, con qualche smanettamento per usarla in pianta stabile, o imparatevi arch o debian o qualcosa dal rilascio affidabile
Dicevo... al netto di queste granitiche certezze scolpite indelebili nel pessimismo, cui da anni Pat ci ha abituati...

Ma cosa diamine dovrebbe accadere per rendere il prossimo rilascio abbastanza "stabile" agli occhi del nostro venerabile despota?
Quale (a sto punto) imperscrutabile disegno si cela tra le righe dell'ultimo Changelog!?!?
Quale cribbio, mi si consenta, di problema c'è?
Quale nefasto scoglio ha fatto arenare in perniciose acque il nostro, di un tempo, spensierato nocchiero?
Perché ancora si esita senza una nuova stabile, lasciando nella calura a pancia all'aria tanti fidi subegni?
Suvvia! Non è più tempo di star qui a farci mangiare il belino dalle mosche!

La domanda seria però resta. Come mai questo ritardo secondo voi?
Non sarebbe stato più sensato un rilascio stabile intermedio dal 2016 ad oggi? Tipo 2 o 3 anni fa?
Quale pezzo del sistema ha dato così tanto da pensare a Pat?

Il problema, credo, è che il mondo linux sta correndo, ha avuto una accelerazione da systemd a wayland e relativi DE (per noi solo kde) e slackware ha poche persone che la sviluppano e faticano a stare al passo

forse sta aspettando il prossimo kernel long term... sono uscite due versioni del kernel in due giorni... per me è il software open che ha cambiato passo oppure (probabile) è calata la qualità..

La policy di un kernel LTS è stata abbandonata di recente.

Hey folks! Sorry about the delay in getting this batch out but I had other
distractions going on here last week that prevented getting this one wrapped
up. Anyway, probably the highlight of this update set is that we've decided
to abandon the 5.10 LTS kernel in favor of following the latest one. We've
never really had a policy that required LTS in a stable release although that
is how it has been done for years, but based on comments from the Slackware
community it seems like 5.10 LTS isn't getting a lot of love and lacks
hardware support that people need now. Conversely, the reports on 5.12 have
been almost entirely positive, so we're going to provide what we think is the
best available kernel. It's unlikely that we'll see another LTS prior to
release, so the plan for maintenance is to keep following the latest kernels
as needed for security purposes. If that means we have to jump to a new branch
while supporting the stable release, we'll start the kernel out in testing
first until we've had some feedback that it's safe to move it to the patches
directory. Sooner or later we will end up on an LTS kernel again, and at that
point we'll just roll with that one. Feel free to comment (or complain) about
this plan on LQ... I'll be curious to see what people think. Anyway, enjoy!

mmm allora non saprei... datemi del 'pazzo' ma non uso la current.. forse c'è qualche lamentela espressa su LQ che è in attesa di fix su qualche progetto... bisognerebbe chiederglielo
