2 Problemi in uno, hd e masterizzatore

Salve a tutti, uso da poco Slack e non sono molto esperto e fungo da parasfiga nelle notti tempestose. Ok arriviamo al sodo. Credo il mio hd sia seriamente danneggiato, precedentemente avevo una partizione di win sulla quale c'erano dei blocchi danneggiati e mi provcva serissimi poblemi col dual boot. Sconfitta però la dipendenza da windows adesso utilizzo slacware come unico OS ma anche doopo formattazione ecc l'hd resta danneggiato (se qualcuno può suggerire modelli e prezzi sarebbe anche una ottima cosa). Ad ogni modo mi dice di effettuare fsck manualmente, ma devo farlo con la partizione smontata? non è quella di root ma non so. Problema 1 ma credo comprerò un hd nuovo a breve, il successivo è più urgente. Trasferisco un pò di file da un cd al mio hd, toglo il cd, ne rimetto un altro e....beh...uhm... niente. Cioè proprio enitne, non si apre più, non lo legge..niente di niente
L'unico omento in cui posso aprirlo e salvare il mio cd dal mio divoratore di rom è al riavvio prima del prompt di lilo. Premettendo che sono uno dei peggiori noob della storia (non mi dispiaerebbe imparare qualcosa, motivo per cui andrò al raduno di fuorigrotta a napoli il 25) qualcuno potrebbe cortesemente aiutare? Grazie anticipate per chi avrà la pazienza di leggere tutto questo.

Scusate il doppio post.. risolto fsck ( qualunque fosse la combinazione di quelle lettere) smontato, daato il comando, e rimontato. Per il lettore dvd niente, qualcuno mi dice come montarlo ad esempio? vedere se è riconosciuto?

Sì, o alla peggio montata in sola lettura (ro) (Questo di solito si fa per la root).

L'hai smontato prima di toglierlo? Cioè hai dato il comando umount ecc., oppure cliccato col tasto destro sull'icona del cd e scelto "smonta" oppure "espelli"?

No niente del genere, grazie dell'interesse. Allora, ho provato a montare il cd, ma non c'era in etc/fstab a quanto pare. Ho aperto il file con nano e ho notato che la riga /dev/cdrom era commentata. Ho provveduto a decommentarla e montare. Ma mi da il seguente errore : can't read superblock. Il fatto è che un secondo prima stavo utilizzando un altro cd e tutto andava bene..poi al cambio..boh. Non so cosa c'entri, ma dopo l'errore can't read superblock il drive si apriva e chiudeva, dopo startx tutto da capo..

Era commentata perché adesso mount e umount vengono gestiti da HAL. Del resto che hai scritto non ho capito nulla :-k

LOOOOOOOOOl ok! Scusa lo so, è che vado SEMPRE di fretta.
Allora: Dopo aver decommentato la riga ho provato con mount /dev/cdrom (adesso visibile). Il risultato è stato solo "can't read superblock". Dopodichè il cd è stato automaticamente espulso.

Per quanto riguarda tutto quel casino descritto poco fa volevo dire che il problema è nato subito dopo aver tolto un cd dal lettore e averne messo un altro. Quindi non so cosa sia potuto accadere in quei 2 secondi di tempo..

Suggerimenti?

Da utente root edita il file /etc/fstab e controlla se è presente una riga del tipo:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

/dev/cdrom      /mnt/cdrom       auto        noauto,owner,ro  0   0
In caso affermativo, commentala mettendoci davanti un #

Riavvia il computer e controlla se adesso funziona.

Certo che incoraggianti quegli errori non sono, tuttavia non è detto che sia un problema del tuo DVD. Io ho avuto problemi con il mio masterizzatore DVD e il kernel di default della Slack 12.1 (oltre che con un 2.6.26), attualmente ho downgradato a quello segnato quì a fianco nel mio profilo... se cerchi nel forum troverai anche un mio thread a proposito, che purtroppo non ha avuto molta partecipazione #-o
Per la cronaca, il tuo non sarà mica un Liteon?

Mmmh, problemi all'hd ed al cd-rom. Non è che magari (ammesso che l'hard disk sia IDE) c'è qualche problema (H/w o compatibilità) nel controller IDE, nel cavo o altro di attinente al come sono connesse le due periferiche a quest'ultimo?

Fai alcune prove tipo:
- cambia slot IDE
- prova le periferiche separatamente
- controlla i jumper MASTER/SLAVE/CABLE S.
