problemi lettore mp3
Ciao a tutti,
chiedo un aiuto disperato.
I miei amici mi hanno regalato un lettore mp3 Gold Energy 1 Gb.
Questo lettore, che ha una porta usb 2.0 FULL SPEED incorporata, dovrebbe funzionare in due modalità, a seconda se viene collegato al computer con il tasto di blocco attivo o no.
In una modalità, sotto Windows, parte automaticamente un programma che converte le canzoni presenti su un cd in mp3 e le copia sul lettore
Nell'altra modalità, l'unica che mi interessa, attaccando il lettore al
computer, questo dovrebbe vederlo semplicemente come una memoria usb esterna, senza bisogno di driver particolari (almeno così è scritto sul manuale).
Il problema è che Linux non riesce a riconoscermi la memoria. Nella seconda modalità vi posto qui di seguito cosa mi riporta il kernel (comando dmesg):

Il lettore è proprio incompatibile con Linux? C'è qualcosa che mi manca nel kernel? (2.6 ricompilato da me, ma non ho mai avuto problemi con altre chiavette usb) Cos'è il device sg0?

Il device sg0 è quello creato dai driver scsi general.

Forse ha una rom (dove è contenuto il programma) che si presenta come prima partizione e la cosa non piace a linux.

ho provato ma non mi dava niente.
... alla fine ho rinunciato, sono tornato al negozio con il portatile e mi sono fatto cambiare il lettore mp3 con uno che andasse bene per Linux.
Sono stati gentili perchè mi hanno fatto provare direttamente i lettori sulla mia
Slack. Mi hanno chiesto che distribuzione avevo, ma la Slackware non la conoscevano! E quando ho cominciato a lavorare direttamente da shell senza X, mi hanno chiesto se questa Slackware non aveva qualcosa di grafico o se era come MSDOS!!! All'Eldo Windows rules
