Compiz su Slackware 12.0

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.

Per il resto ho 1GB di RAM a 266Mhz e una Nvidia Geforce 6200 (chi se ne intende sa benissimo che non è proprio una scheggia)
wa come fai a caricarlo dall'inizio il plugin delle gocce d'acqua?:D e poi per quel famoso driconf ci sono novità? ;)

rieccomi, anche io ho lo stesso problema di red cioè il fatto che non mi scrive nei files di compiz, perchè ho dei problemi di permessi nella partizione / (non riesco ad accederci manco da root!!! come è possibile??) e secondo me è questo il problema del freeze di compiz.

anche voi avete questo problema con la partizione di / (intendo chi ha il lo stesso errore di red)?

Dallo xorg.conf di carocco mi par di capire che l'unica differenza tra le prove che ho fatto io e la sua configurazione è che lui usa il driver nvidia generico (nv) e io quello proprietario.

A maggior ragione devo provare un'altra versione (più vecchia) del driver.

Penso sia l'unica soluzione plausibile a questo punto.

@John-Cena
gli effetti vengono passati come parametri all'avvio di compiz da quello che ho capito dallo script, prova a dargli un occhio.

boh allora non saprei proprio.. :(

comunque ho proprio lo stesso comportamento di red anchio (cioè che dopo un riavvio ecc ecc si freeza): identico...
non so che fare :?

comunque ho notato che il pager dei desktops si allargano quando viene caricato compiz e se provo a modificarlo (tipo metto 6 desktops, sul pager compaiono 16 desktops!!!), è normale??

a me i desktop il pager si allarga nel senso che le icone dei desktop si allargano... :D

si, ho magari 4 desktops nel pager, attivo compiz e i 4 quadrati si allungano diventando dei rettangoli... :?
poi se aumento il numero di desktop tipo a 6 me ne aggiunge altri 10 !!!! e se ne metto 1 mi ritornano i 4 desktop normali come all'inizio!

è un bug?

ehmm penso di si perchè oltre a quello a me ad esempio fa tenere un solo sfondo desktop...poi gli applet di superkaramba che prima avevo su tutti i desktop ora mi compaiono in un solo desktop...non so se sia normale...

Signore e signori... ecco la fine del problema! :wav:
(o l'inizio di altri?!?)

Comunque:
1. per le schede NVIDIA vale quanto si era detto sul discorso del DRI ecc... ovvero che non serve a un tubo;
2. il problema sta nell'ultima relase dei driver ufficiali che fanno schifezze. Con i precedenti (1.0-9639) tutto va che è "nu babbà"!

Come ultimo pensiero quindi immagino che sulle prestazioni non influisca il pacchetto "driconf", visto che appunto il DRI si usa sulle ATI, ma se qualcuno ne sa di più mi faccia sapere. :lol:

il pager di kde non è compatibile con compiz, su kde-apps dovrebbe esserci un pager fatto apposta per compiz su kde (kde-compiz pager se non ricordo male...) comunque io semplicemente l'ho tolto, compiz è usabilissimo anche senza pager...
Per la questione dri servono solo alle ati, quindi chi ha nvidia non se ne fa nulla di driconf

il problema sta nell'ultima relase dei driver ufficiali che fanno schifezze. Con i precedenti (1.0-9639) tutto va che è "nu babbà"!
