Da quando sono passato alla current, sul mio portatile (HP ze4900) ho dovuto impostare la modalita' Vesa in quanto il driver i810 che ho sempre usato fino alla slack11 mi da un problema strano.
In particolare, avviando xinit mi trovo lo schermo che sfarfalla.Kde funziona, ma con sfarfallamento. Pero' se collego un monitor VGA esterno e' tutto ok ed anche piu' veloce del Vesa, con GLX funzionante e quant'altro!!!
Quindi stessa schermata in contemporanea sul monitor crt perfetta, sull'LCDdel portatile sfarfalla ed il mouse e' lento!!
Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema?

tutti i problemi con la scheda intel del portatile li ho risolti installando i due pacchetti:
xf86-video-i810-1.7.4-i486-1.tgz
xf86-video-intel-2.1.0-i486-1.tgz
e dando
upgradepkg --reinstall xf86-video-i810-1.7.4-i486-1.tgz
altrimenti alcuni file del pacchetto i810 sono sovrascritti dal pacchetto intel.
se non dovesse funzionare, si tratta solo di un problema di configurazione
del file xorg.conf
entrambi sono pacchetti originali della Slackware 12
xf86-video-i810-1.7.4-i486-1.tgz
xf86-video-intel-2.1.0-i486-1.tgz
e dando
upgradepkg --reinstall xf86-video-i810-1.7.4-i486-1.tgz
altrimenti alcuni file del pacchetto i810 sono sovrascritti dal pacchetto intel.
