Problema HotPlug

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.

Problema HotPlug

Salve gente.ho un kernel 2.6.20 con su hotplug impostato all avvio..
La cosa che mi lascia un pò perplesso è un messaggio che mi esce all avvio e quando vado a startarla da rc.d..l'output è il seguente:

Pensando potesse essere un problema di permessi, ho cambiato i permessi a tutto cio presenti nella dir 001 002 003..ma nulla..

Mi sapreste chiarire questo dilemma'???

Se stai usando la slack 11 con kernel 2.6 hotplug viene disabilitato in quanto udev intercetta i "kernel events" per creare i nodi. Udev usa come riferimento /sys , non /proc. Se hai qualche motivo particolare per usare hotplug col kernel 2.6 (per la verità <=2.6.15 se mi ricordo bene) dovresti ritornare a udev-0.64 (verifica perchè sto andando a memoria) che lavorava " in coppia con hotplug" e modificare alcuni script di avvio (rc.S eccetera).
Se avvii manualmente hotplug crei diverso scompiglio nel sistema e gli errori che ottieni sono verosimilmente causati dal fatto che le periferiche sono registrate in /sys non in /proc come sarebbe richiesto.
A meno che tu non sappia esattamente cosa stai facendo, lascerei perdere e userei udev.

Grazie mille per la risposta, circa il fatto che hotplug viene sostituito nel kernel 2.6 da udevd, ne ero a conoscenza, ma il problema di fondo è che all avvio, con udevd, mi esce una sbrodolata di errori tipo questo che ho trovatosu un forum:

Errori tipo quello che hai riportato o esattamente quello ?
ttySx sono i device node delle porte seriali.. hai un modem analogico inserito in una porta seriale ? (o qualche altro aggeggio).
Hai controllato in /lib/udev/devices se per caso i vari ttSx sono già presenti ?
Quei nodi vengono copiati automaticamente all'avvio perchè sono necessari in una fase di avvio precedente all'inizializzazione di udev o perchè udev non è in grado di gestire correttamente il nodo.
Altrimenti prova a commentare la riga corrispondente in /etc/udev/rules.d/udev.conf.
Se decidi di modificare qualcosa fatti un bel back-up, non vorrei averti sulla coscienza.

no, non sono esattamente quelli..li ho presi da un altro forum, a me ne escono molti se abilito udevd..per vedere i messaggi dell avvio in modo tale da poterli postare qui, come posso fare?

per caso stai usando il tgz "devs" di una slack più vecchia della 11? quelli non sono errori: ti sta solo dicendo che udev non crea il device perchè ne esiste già uno. evidentemente ci sono dei device persistenti che non vengono creati da udev.

Grazie mille per la risposta..comunque ho scaricato i tgz da linuxpackages per la versione 11...Per essere più preciso, se avvio in questa maniera, anche in run level 3, partendo da linea di comando, quando faccio un ls -la su una directory molto capiente, mi va terribilmente lento..
Cosa che sul il fisso (con su udevd) non succede.
Mi potreste dire come fare a postarvi i messaggi di errore che ricevo all avvio?Magari posso essere più preciso..

usa dmesg | less per leggere i messaggi del kernel e /var/log/messages per il log di avvio

SI da linux packages..Perchè??

comunque se faccio un cat del messages in /var/log, mi da dei messaggi, ma non sono quelli che mi escono all avvio del sistema..

mmm... da qua io non vedo niente... mi potresti indicare il link da cui hai scaricato i tgz: sul sito di linuxpkg non lo trovo.

hai provato a rimuove e reinstallare il pacchetto dev? credo sia meglio farlo dal cd1/dvd usando la variabile ROOT di installpkg altrimenti sp***ani tutto! (se non sai come te lo posto ma prima chiariamo l'origine dei pachetti!)

Uhm mi sa che mi sono espresso male.Volendo scaricare una versione più recende di udev,pensando di risolvere il problema sostituendolo con l'udev nativo, lho scaricato da linuxpackages a questo link http://www.linuxpackages.net/search_vie ... v&ver=11.0

Ho fatto qualche cappellata nè?

comunque il pacchetto dev, non l ho toccato.

Un altra cosa,da quando ho questo problema,facendopartire il sistema in run level 3, persino la linea di comando mi va lenta,per esempio se faccio un cat su un file grosso o un ls -la su di una directory molto capiente..
Può centrare questo oppure centra agpgart?

Ho ricompilato il kernel aggiungendo qualche piccolo parametro..Mail "problemapersiste"..

Con una velocità immane, sono riuscito a copiare uno dei tanti messaggi di errore del udevd.Più o meno l gli errori risultano su questa riga:

udevd-event[..]udevd-node-symlink: symlink(parametro in dev che varia in ogni messaggio di errore)filed file exist

Non per rompere le uova nel paniere ma dopo la ricompilazione, facendo un generate_modprobe.conf /etc/modprobe.conf
mi da il seguente errore:

warning:not translating path[toplevel1]=/lib/modules/2.6

Cosa sarebbe a dire?

ps:ho provato a disinstallare il pacchetto devs ed reinstallarlo, come mi hai consigliato, ma il problema persiste!!

questa è difficile....

comunque i passi da seguire sono sempre quelli:
1-prova con i pacchetti di default: kernel 2.6.17.13, udev di slack e pacchetto dev di slack
2-controlla che funzioni tutto...
se non va prova con il kernel 2.4.x e hotplug forniti di serie

se non va manco quello.. potrebbero esserci problemi hardware...

però è sempre bene testare una combinazione di pacchetti/kernel che si è sicuri funzioni, prima di dannarsi l'anima a cercare eventuali minuzie che ci sono sfuggiti!
