ciao, volevo installare vmware, ma nn ci riesco, lo script d´installazione mi chiede:
 What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
 rc6.d/)?
 non so indicare la directory. posto input

 è molto semplice e spiega tutto, anche come fare per il tuo dubbio. 
 Per ogni domanda chiedi pure, io l´ho installato.

 ho seguito la guida, ma nn capisco questo passaggio: for i in {0,1,2,3,4,5,6}; do mkdir rc$i.d; done
 
 
 You might want to do the following:
  cd /etc
 mkdir init.d
 for i in {0,1,2,3,4,5,6}; do mkdir rc$i.d; done

crea semplicemente le dir /etc/init.d/rc0.d, rc1.d, ecc..., tipiche dei sistemi con boot stile system V. slackware usa il boot stile bsd, x questo non ha quelle dir. molto intelligentemente il setup di vmware presume che tutti usino il system v, quindi pretende di trovare quelle dir, che quindi devi creare a mano. dopo l´installazione sposti lo script che ti crea in /etc/init.d in /etc/rc.d/rc.vmware e lo lanci da rc.local, a post.

 ho seguito i passaggi, ma nn vuole avviarsi,

ho trovato questa piccola utility, ma nn funziona comunque
 
 Prima di iniziare l´installazione
 
 prova ad andare in questa directory da una shell con permessi di root
 /usr/src/linux
 e poi dai il comando
 make cloneconfig
 e dopo
 make prepare-all
 poi ritenta la compilazione dei modulo vmware ...
 nota il kernel e i sorgenti del kernel devono essere allineati quindi fai l´ update nel caso.
 
 il comando: make cloneconfig, nn va´

che kernel usi? come l´hai installato? forse ti servono gli header del 2.6.

uso il kernel 2.6.10 l´ho installato seguendo la guida README.initrd del cd 2 slackware 10.1
