Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Gnu/Linux in genere, se l'argomento è specifico alla Slackware usate uno dei forum Slackware o Slackware64.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute

Salve a tutti,
ho la necessità di avviare ubuntu senza la modalità grafica, per l'installazione dei driver nvidia.
non posso utilizzare init1 perchè ricevo un warning
vi posto il mio inittab
potete dirmi cosa devo cambiare

per fare in modo che debian si comporti come le altre distro (sotto questo aspetto )
(es.Fedora-Mandrake ecc.ecc)nelle quali si dice che per disattivare il server X digitare Da root nel terminale telinit 3 o (init 3), per passare dalla modalità grafica alla console,attività richiesta per esempio per installare i driver nvidia !
ebbene io ho notato che la debian-sarge parte nel run-level 2 in modalità grafica ,quindi ho effettuato la seguente modifica :
per disattivare X (il server grafico) al unlevel 2, basta editare il file
/etc/inittab
e modificare la stringa
id:2:initdefault:
in
id:3:initdefault:
poi sono entrato in /etc/rc2.d ho
rinominato il link S99gdm in K99gdm e ho riavviato-chi ha kdm si comporti di conseguenza! :
è la sarge si avvia in modalità grafica ma nel runlevel 3 a questo punto si può tranquillamente passare alla modalità testuale con
debian:~# telinit 2 uccidendo il serverX
e ripassare alla modalità grafica con
#telinit 3
come avviene sulle altre distro!!!!
anche se credo che questa manovra su ubuntu non serva
