Kmail, posta hotmail sparita?!

Ragazzi sul vecchio pc avevo installato kmail e configurato per visualizzare le e-mail di hotmail.

Tutto tranquillo, visualizzavo la posta di hotmail senza prolemi su Kmail.

Solo che quando accedo ad hotmail via browser, non ci sono più le email, come se Kmail se le avesse imprigionate [-X [-X

Ora è capitato che si è bruciata la scheda madre e sono passato su un altro pc e persiste il problema! Non riesco a vedere più le email che ho ricevuto in passato su hotmail!

Qualcuno ha qualche idea?

se le hai scaricate con pop3 e non hai settato "lascia le mail nel server" le hai in quel pc dove avevi kmail
ma hotmail non si legge solamente tramite web? avevi freepops o qualcosa del genere?

Sì conraid, avevo usato freepops.

Ora non ricordo se avevo spuntato la scelta di far rimanere le email sul server (a quanto pare no).

Spero di riuscire a recuperare l'hd del vecchio pc. Se riesco a connetterlo a questo pc, dove potrei cercare le e-mail archiviate?

non ricordo kmail dove le mette di default, mi sembra in ~/mail, se invece hai scelto un percorso personalizzato dove hai detto tu di salvarle

io uso kmail da tanti anni e mi trovo bene ... ora sto usando la versione 1.8.2, ma avevo versioni anche precedenti ... per un periodo le mail si trovavano nella user-home in .Mail ... dopo aggiornamenti tutto si è spostato in .kde/share/apps/kmail ... la directory kmail contiene tutti i settaggi, le mail e gli allegati ...

Ho montato il vecchio hd in /mnt/Old, con la riga in fstab:

In particolar modo ho fatto attenzione alla directory che mi serve per recuperare le email di kmail (.kde).

Prima mi segnala:

Ed un po' sotto:

Questo tra l'altro me lo segnala con tutte le altre directory nascoste.

Ho provato comunque a dare:

E mi restituisce:

Inoltre ho notato che quando avvio il pc ed entro in /mnt/Old, riesco a vedere tutti i file ed immagini.

Non appeno provo a dare cp -r con conseguente errore, in /mnt/Old rimangono solo directory vuote senza file. Ma i file ci sono, perchè ad ogni avvio riesco a vedere se non "smanetto" troppo con la partizione.

Vedendo che qualcosa evidentemente non va, ho anche provato a dare:

smonta il disco e non metterlo in fstab
guarda nei log se vedi qualcosa di strano, tipo superblock errati, etc...
perché sembra proprio un problema dell'hard e lavorarci non fa che peggiorare la situazione
Per il resto fallo riposare, mettilo in frigo, ma non lo usare
Fra qualche giorno provi, ma se da ancora l'errore se vuoi i dati devi provare qualcosa tipo

e poi monti l'immagine
Oppure provi con testdisk o tool simili.
Ma spero che qualcuno più esperto di me ti dia qualche suggerimento migliore

A quali log ti riferisci?

Lo lascio a riposo e riprovo in seguito, sperando di non dover ricorrere a dd, perchè non ho spazio sufficiente per copiare l'intero hd vecchio.

ma ci hai lavorato quel giorno?
il post si riferiva al primo giugno?

comunque montalo da riga di comando (senza usare fstab) e poi guarada sia dmesg sia i log
ma aspetta un poco e soprattutto per adesso non farci altro
