io ho un desktop con p4 @1700 e il /proc/acpi/etc...etc... adesso mi da 50 gradi!

il centrino (p-m sonoma @1700) sul portatile di media ha 45 gradi... mi pare...

c'è da dire che sul portatile ho slack con fluxbox mentre sul fisso (adesso) ho la suse 9.2 con kde

(padre ho peccato mi perdoni ma ho un valido motivo per usare suse...)

per usufruire di lm-sensor devi avere attivati i moduli di I2C nel kernel.
peró non so aiutarti piú di tanto, non lo uso..

Su questo forum esistono tanti post su come abilitare i sensori. Fate una ricerca e troverete sicuramente qualcosa.
Vi riassumo i passi da fare. Abilitate acpi, installate e configurate lm_sensors attivando i vari moduli i2c, installate torsmo o qualsiasi altro programma per vedere la temperatura.
