yep...
there's a problem with .tgz files... especially in kdebase-3.4.3.tgz... startkde file is missing!!!!
now I'm trying to pick up startkde from tar.bz2 and paste into new /opt/kde/bin folder...
Let's have the new KDE 3.4.3 :)

I thought I can rely on these packages... Yeah, I know they are not from Slackware.com but they are on KDE's FTP site... So I thought they are good enough... KDE should know how to built... KDE for a distribution like Slack...samiel ha scritto:Patrick builds them from source.

These packages are maybe not so good /No matter that they are from KDE itself... But as far as I remember I couldn't use "startkde" command on stock Slackware 10.0 and 10.1 and I think 10.2 also... I always use "startx" command... Maybe it is the same and the problem is not in these packagescarflyer ha scritto:yep...

It is just a guess...
If you still have problems with these packages... Please note! They are updated... Indeed only kdebase is updated. And it is written in the README:carflyer ha scritto:startx calls .xinitrc that calls startkde (if kde is the default wm)
So maybe your problems are because of these problems...ChangeLog 20051013: If you have any problems, first ensure that you are using kdebase-3.4.3-i486-3.tgz and not an older version with missing applications.
