Sì, io ho un sempron 2800 a 64 bit anche se lo uso a 32...Picche, il sempron 3000 è un k7, se lo compili per k8 vengono uno sproposito di errori perchè il kernel non riesce a caricare svariati moduli base. I k8 mi sembra di aver capito siano i processori a 64 bit.

Puoi anche leggere l'output di less /proc/cpuinfo e vedere dai flags le caratteristiche della tua cpu, che puoi capire a cosa corrispondano leggendo /usr/include/asm/cpufeature.h o /usr/src/linux/include/asm-i386/cpufeature.h .Esiste un modo definitivo per stabilirlo?
