Regole del forum

Ciao.
Ho installato i driver ati su slack 10.2, kernel 2.6.13.4
fglrx si carica all'avvio (controllato con lsmod), fglrxinfo va bene, glxinfo va bene, glxgears fa 1900 fps, ma se gioco a ksudoku in 3D mi scatta.
Perchè??????

si tutto va bene ma il driver ha bisogno di utilizzare una particolare quantità di memoria definita shared posix memory (shm) che deve essere montata all'avvio -al limite prima di usare il driver ati- aggiungi quella riga e tutto sarà ok.aries ha scritto:si, ma tutto è andato come doveva, sennò i comandi non restituivano il caricamento del modulo.
Infatti non ho dovuto nemmeno trasformare Xfree, per chè io non ce l'ho.
I settaggi sono stati scritti direttamente in xorg.
Naturale, visto che il driver è nuovo.....
ad ogni modo che scheda ati hai? perchè 1900ftp non sono molti....
senza accelerazione arriverai a 300/700 a seconda del processore, ma 1900 sono valori di una scheda un pò datata: se è così ok, altrimenti qualcosa che non va c'è comunque!
tra l'altro dovrebbe comunque segnalarti l'assenza della shm nel log di X!

PS: ricordati di abilitare anche i permessi per il DRI nell'xorg.conf!!!

Quel comando messo così in fstab carica /dev/shm all'avvio o lo devo montare tutte le volte a mano?
A me sembra che essendoci 0 0 alla fine non si carichi all'avvio, o no?

o al limite slack4dummies
...
comunque sì: fstab è il file impiegato da mount all'avvio del sistema per capire quali filesystem montare di default. più che lo 0 0 è l'opzione defaults che comprende il montaggio automatico all'avvio (defaults è una somma di più opzioni tra le quali è inclusa anche auto...)
all'avvio viene lanciato il comando
mount -a
che legge in fstab e carica tutti i filesystems cui è stato assegnato il montaggio in automatico. per concludere:
subito dopo l'avvio dai un
#>mount
senza argomenti e vedrai la lista dei file systems montati, ci sarà anche shm. infino con
#>df
verdai quanto dello spazio riservato a shm venga impiegato istante per istante (o quasi)
