Usb 2 va come usb 1

ciao,
Ho un problema con le periferiche USB2 che funzionano alla velocità di USB1.
Uso slackware 11.0 con il kernel 2.6.17.13.

a parte che ogni tanto mi da problemi di IRQ e le periferiche non si connettono apparentemente sembra tutto ok ma sia chiavette che masterizatori che harddisk vanno a 1Mb/s.
Posto l'output, magari qualcuno più esperto riesce a trovare il problema:

quando le monti usa l'opzione "async", dovrebbero migliorare le cose (occhio solo a non togliere la chiavetta prima di averla smontata, rischi di non vederti salvati i dati)

non è quello il problema visto che va a 1Mb/s in lettura.

comunque ho fatto un hdparm sull'hd:

Timing buffered disk reads: 8 MB in 3.29 seconds = 2.43 MB/sec

adesso stranamente va ben a 2 MB/sec

con windows va a 10MB/sec se non sbaglio.
è normale che vada così lento oppure vede la periferica come usb1?

E' strano che vada così piano, soprattutto se "dall'altra parte" viaggia a tale velocità ... sicuro dei dati relativi a Windows?

No ho fatto solo una stima ma windows va di sicuro molto molto più veloce.

la stima empirica:
Ho provato a masterizzare la la iso del dvd di slack11 da HD al masterizzatore entrambi USB e la velocità di masterizzazione era di mezzo mega al secondo(0.4x ) una cosa improponibile.
Su windows invece ho masterizzato senza problemi a 16x per cui va anche più di 10MB/sec.

Per quanto riguarda la scrittura su HD ho provato con un file di grandi dimensioni. usando l'async parte a razzo ma dopo qualche secondo rallenta e scrive a 1/2 MB/sec.

ho visto adesso un altro post e mi è venuto il dubio che il problema potrebe essere nella simulazione SCSI.

è possibile???

io uso il kernel originale della slack11 non è che è configurato male???

Hai provato a rimuovere il modulo uhci_hcd lasciando solamente ehci_hcd? Ogni tanto fanno pasticci se sono caricati insieme. A me è successo con il modem.

si non funziona ho provato ma l'ho fatto a caldo senza smontare il disco.
e poi avrei un problema visto che uso il mouse usb e senza quel modulo non funge :S

RISOLTO

Ho scaricato l'ultimo kernel e compilato con la stessa configurazione ed eddo il risultato di hdparm:

forse potrebbe andare maglio ma almeno adesso ha una velocità accettabile

Penso che piu di così sia difficile ...
20x più di prima dovresti accontentarti .... anche perché con l' USB credo sia difficile ottenere di più ...

sisi, adesso va bene, mi accontento.

comunque per la cronaca ho fatto una modifica alla configurazione, ho attivato la voce Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device (SCSI_MULTI_LUN).
