Kernel 2.4 non rileva hd ide

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata e la versione del Kernel. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Citare il tipo di hardware coinvolto in modo dettagliato.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute

5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT. Non usare termini gergali come procio, mobo e simili per identificare i componenti hardware.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Kernel 2.4 non rileva hd ide

Ciao a tutti ono nuovo di questo forum, e uso slackware da 4 giorni, mi è piaciuta molto fin da subito.
Premetto che uso il kernel 2.4.33 perhè mi serve il kernel 2.4 per fare un cluster di pc, ma questo lo vedremo in futuro. Adesso vi espongo il problema.

Slackware non vede l'hd ide, cosa che mi succedette con un altro linux kernel 2.6 però ma risolvetti attivando alcuni moduli, ma siccome il kernel 2.4 lo uso da poco non vorrei fare qualche bagianata.

vi posto fdisk -l

Gli altri linux vedono l'hd ide come hde, ma sono kernel 2.6.
Sull'hd ide c'è installata fedora con filesytem lvm.

In slack ho già installato lvm2, ma se non vede l'ide non me ne faccio niente

in /dev, hai qualcosa tipo /hdx?

all'avvio, durante il rilevamento dell'hw, che messaggi ti da' riguardo il tuo controller PATA?
dmesg fornisce qualche info utile?

comunque potresti provare a ricompilare il kernel prestando attenzione alla sezione relativa ai chipset ide. sicuro di non poter passare al 2.6?

comunque potresti provare a ricompilare il kernel prestando attenzione alla sezione relativa ai chipset ide. sicuro di non poter passare al 2.6?
Riesco a far convivere kernel 2.4 e kernel 2.6 con la stessa slack senza fare modifiche troppo pesanti, cioè posso avare a mia scelta il kernel 2.6 o il kernel 2.4 senza incorrere a problemi di configurazione ogni volta che avvio?

Preferisco fare il cluster di pc con kernel 2.4, devo downgradare il kernel al 2.4.22 in quanto openmosix supporta solo quel kernel.

Il problema deve essere il kernel 2.4.22 che non riconosce il controller della mainboard...
Inoltre nel forum di OpenMosix mi ricordo di aver letto che con le attuali gclib i processi non migrano http://osdir.com/ml/linux.cluster.openm ... 00000.html... controlla quale versione di Slackware ha le gclib giuste per poter funzionare con OMo6 prima di fare tutto il lavoro ... credo che la versione giusta sia la 10.1 ... e kernel 2.4.26 l' ultimo supportato da OMo6 tra l' altro...
