<A HREF="
http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sour ... .tar.gz

<A HREF="
http://cxacru.altervista.org/ppp-2.4.1. ... .tar.gz

<A HREF="

ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.7 /usr/src/linux

1. in "Code maturity level options":

[*] Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers
[*] Select only drivers expected to compile cleanly
[*] Select only drivers that don´t need compile-time external firmware

2. in "Loadable module support":

[*] Enable loadable module support
[*] Module unloading
[ ] Forced module unloading
[ ] Module versioning support (EXPERIMENTAL)
[*] Automatic kernel module loading

3. in "Processor type and features":

[ ] Symmetric multi-processing support (deve essere DISABILITATO)

4. in "Device Drivers" => "Networking support":

[*] Networking support

<*> Packet socket
[*] Packet socket: mmapped IO
<*> Netlink device emulation
<*> Unix domain sockets
[*] TCP/IP networking
[*] IP: multicasting
[*] IP: advanced router
[*] IP: policy routing
[ ] IP: use netfilter MARK value as routing key
[*] IP: fast network address translation
[*] IP: verbose route monitoring
[ ] IP: kernel level autoconfiguration
[M] IP: tunneling
[M] IP: GRE tunnels over IP
[*] IP: broadcast GRE over IP

un po piu´ in basso:

<*> Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) (EXPERIMENTAL)
<*> Classical IP over ATM (EXPERIMENTAL)
[*] Do NOT send ICMP if no neighbour (EXPERIMENTAL)
[M] LAN Emulation (LANE) support (EXPERIMENTAL)
[M] Multi-Protocol Over ATM (MPOA) support (EXPERIMENTAL)
[M] RFC1483/2684 Bridged protocols
[*] Per-VC IP filter kludge

ancora un po´ piu´ in basso:

[M] WAN router

Adesso esci dalla sezione " Networking options --->"... ti ritroverai, ovviamente in "Networking support". Qui fai le seguenti scelte addizionali (oltre all´abilitazione di "Networking support", fatta sopra):

[M] PPP (point-to-point protocol) support
[*] PPP multilink support (EXPERIMENTAL)
[*] PPP filtering
[M] PPP support for async serial ports
[M] PPP support for sync tty ports
[M] PPP Deflate compression
< > PPP BSD-Compress compression
[M] PPP over Ethernet (EXPERIMENTAL)
[M] PPP over ATM

5. Adesso vai in "Device Drivers" => "USB support" e scegli:

[M] Support for Host-side USB
...
[*] USB device filesystem
...
[M] EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) support
[*] Root Hub Transaction Translators (EXPERIMENTAL)
[M] OHCI HCD support
[M] UHCI HCD (most Intel and VIA) support
...

e, nella stessa sezione, mooolto piu´ in basso:

[M] Alcatel Speedtouch USB support

Ok.

cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7
cp /usr/src/linux/.config /boot/config-2.6.7
cp /usr/src/linux/System.map /boot/System.map-2.6.7
rm /boot/System.map
ln -s /boot/System.map-2.6.7 /boot/System.map

se ne hai bisogno, creati l´initrd: makeinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.7 2.6.7

e modifica /etc/lilo.conf aggiungendo:

image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7
root = /dev/hdax
label = Linux2.6.7
read-only

Ora, scompatta dove vuoi linux-atm-2.4.1.tar.gz e compilalo:

tar zxvf linux-atm-2.4.1.tar.gz
cd linux-atm-2.4.1
./configure; make; make install; make clean

Scompatta ppp-2.4.1.pppoe2-pppoatm.tar.gz e compilalo:

tar zxvf ppp-2.4.1.pppoe2-pppoatm.tar.gz
cd ppp-2.4.1.pppoe2-pppoatm
./configure; make; make install; make clean

Scompatta cxacru.tar.bz2 e compilalo:

tar jxvf cxacru.tar.bz2
cd cxacru
cd module
make (fregatene degli errori che ti da´... anche a me ne da´, ma funzia lo stesso)
cd ..
make (qui non ti dovrebbe dare nessun errore)

Controlla ora se esistono i seguenti files in /usr/sbin:

cxfirm1.bin cxfirm5.bin cxnet2down.sh cxnet4down.sh cxstart.sh
cxfirm2.bin cxioctl cxnet2up.sh cxnet4up.sh cxstop.sh
cxfirm3.bin cxload cxnet3down.sh cxnetdown.sh cxunload.sh
cxfirm4.bin cxload.sh cxnet3up.sh cxnetup.sh

Ok... forse e´ quasi finita...
vai a modificare /etc/cxacru facendo le seguenti scelte:

# Driver mode
DRIVER_MODE=1 # 1 = normal, 2 = debug, 3 = normal+max speed (without ask adsl status), 4
= debug+max speed (without ask adsl status)

# Protocol
PROTOCOL_MODE=2 # 1 = RFC1483/2684 routed, 2 = PPP over ATM (pppoa), 3 = RFC1483/2684 bri
dged, 4 = PPP over Ethernet (pppoe)

# Paths
BINARY_PATH="/usr/sbin"
ATM_PATH=""

e, piu´ in basso,

# ATM
VPI=8
VCI=35

# Specific for RFC1483/2684 routed/bridged
# if IP_ADDRESS is blank in bridged mode then it uses DHCP to get IP
IP_ADDRESS=
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=

lock
defaultroute
noipdefault
noauth
noaccomp
nopcomp
noccp
novj
holdoff 4
persist
maxfail 25
usepeerdns
passive
asyncmap 0
lcp-echo-interval 2
lcp-echo-failure 7
name tuo_user_name
user tuo_user_name
plugin /usr/lib/pppd/plugins/pppoatm.so
8.35

# Secrets for authentication using CHAP
# client server secret IP addresses
tuo_user_name * tua_password *

rm /etc/resolv.conf
ln -s /etc/ppp/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

Ora.... dovresti avere finito!

Ciao.
