Nel N°1 solo 24 non è sotto commento significa che per le righe successive non ho bisogno di modificare anche le sezioni con altre profondità di colore? (16,32 ecc)
No, non devi decommentare niente, a meno che non vuoi cambiare il valore di default della profondità colore (es 32 bit). Nel caso decommenti la linea 32 bit e commenti ovviamente la linea a 24 bit. Ci può essere solo un valore di default...
Altra domanda anche facendo così la risoluzione non sta migliorando resto sempre a 1024x768 l'ultima volta che ho installato Slackware mi ricordo che mi basto modificare in questo modo per migliorare il tutto ma adesso non ci riesco.
Se la combinazione scheda video/monitor non è in grado leggendo l'EDID di generare una risoluzione più alta, devi usare un "HINT", in pratica devi indicare al driver della scheda video come generare le linee H/V per una risoluzione più alta (modeline).
Devi, ovviamente, controllare la risoluzione massima e la frequenza del monitor riportata sul manuale del monitor stesso.

Io ho uno schermo LCD wide con questi valori. Ovviamente devi adattarli al tuo caso. Comunque i valori da inserire con gft sono linee orizzontali (es 1440). linee verticali (es 900) e frequenza del refresh verticale (es 60 Hz).
