Prova a riavviare con un LiveCD recente e controlla se così funziona.

Vedo solo segnali da ohci ed ehci: non è che il tuo controller richiede uhci e manca il modulo per l'uhci? Io per una cosa del genere son quasi impazzito: il più delle volte funzionava, ma dopo un po' che il device era associato, il bus si ingolfava.

Tempo fa improvvisamente il mouse non risponde ai comandi. guardo i log e non vedo molti errori su usb... ma cambio porta e va. Morale, una porta usb andata.
Devo decidermi a cambiare computer

Aiuto!! Che roba strana... Una cosa simile me la faceva un PC di un amico che aveva le USB frontali!! Alimentavano le periferiche, ci collegavi ventoline, LED etc... E funzigavano!!
Però niente scambio di dati!! Ora non ricordo i messaggi esatti del kernel, ma non era l'unica volta che le USB frontali davano problemi!!!
Visto anche un recente problema in una prolunga USB, controllati i contatti dei piedini del connettore nel PC, magari sono solo un po "allentati"

su asus purtroppo anche io ho esperienze pessime, accanto ad esperienze invece ottime.
In un pc che ho regalato anni fa, gira ancora la mia vecchia mainboard asus per pentium
Fanno prodotti ottimi accanto a prodotti che invece hanno problemi.
In due mainboard simili ho avuto due controller ide rotti, in un altro anche io usb.

Gia` 20 anni fa` la RCA calcolava/garantiva
quanti cicli acceso/spento un transistor durava.

I semiconduttori odierni sono calcolati
che la macchina duri "la garanzia" meno un mese.

Con due/tre anni di garanzia, chi si ricorda?
