Compilazione Glibc 2.3.4 con abilitazione POSIX threads

Ciao a tutti.
 
 Ho una Slackware 10.1 e, siccome vorrei utilizzare Cedega 4.3 al massimo delle sue potenzialità, dovrei abilitare i POSIX threads (pthreads), altrimenti i giochi che girano con Cedega, vanno molto lentamente. Infatti ho letto che per usare Cedega al massimo delle sue potenzialità, bisogna avere i pthreads abilitati. Così ho fatto alcune ricerche con Google e ho trovato un piccolo how-to per la compilazione di Glibc su Slackware (http://www.slacklife.com.br/article.php?sid=1231). Il sito è in portoghese, ma l´ho tradotto con Babel Fish di AltaVista (http://world.altavista.com). Il problema è che alla fine della compilazione (durata più di mezz´ora) i pacchetti vengono creati, ma nella cronologia del terminale ho notato che ci sono stati alcuni errori. Ho provato lo stesso a installarli come descritto nel sito, ma poi Slackware non riesce più a eseguire i comandi, non mi trova nemmeno più la bash.

 So di essere stato un po´ lungo, ma penso comunque che gli errori che ho riportato sono molto importanti ai fini della risoluzione del problema. Spero anche che ci sia qualcuno che usa Cedega con i pthreads abilitati.

sugli errori non so dirti granchè, ma questo thread mi interessa particolarmante perchè dovrei scrivere un programma che usi i thread in c. a riguardo ho visto che l´header pthread.h - che contiene le varie funzioni per creare, clonare, stoppare... un thread - è già presente tra gli include del kernel. in buona sostanza, aggiungo #include <pthread.h> senza problemi nei miei sorgenti... quindi, che è sta notizia che i thread non sono supportati nativamente?

mah, infatti penso che la glibc di slackware supporti i pthread di suo, ma dovrei indagare.

Forse mi sbagliavo parzialmente, nel senso che ho i pthreads abilitati, ma con uno stack size troppo piccolo. Infatti ecco cosa dice Cedega:

Ho risolto!

Il problema era il kernel che usavo (2.4.29). Ora sono passato al kernel 2.6.10 e sono riuscito a compilare le glibc 2.3.4 con i pthreads abilitati.

Ho slackware aggiornata alla current. Per compilare GNOME 2.10 ho bisogno degli header del 2.6.10 ma che non posso installare perchè le glibc sono compilate con gli header della slackware 9.1, il 2.4.22. Domanda:
 
 1) se ricompilo la glibc con gli header del 2.6.10 e rimuovo la glibc della current, andrà tutto bene o mi ritroverò con un sistema non usabile (uso Linux al lavoro e non posso permettermelo) ?? Ho letto la FAQ sul sito delle glibc e non mi è sembrato tanto rassicurante il fatto; ad esempio dice di non usare --prefix=/usr nel configure ma io non voglio metterla in /usr/local/, tu come hai fatto ?
 
 2) ho visto che ci sono altri pacchetti relativi alla glibc:
 /var/log/packages/glibc-i18n-2.3.3-noarch-2
 /var/log/packages/glibc-solibs-2.3.3-i486-2
 /var/log/packages/glibc-zoneinfo-2.3.3-noarch-2
 
 con questi come la metto ? Con checkinstall li posso creare ?
