Come Installare Conky? (RISOLTO)

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.

Come Installare Conky? (RISOLTO)

Salve a tutti, essendo un niubbone appena arrivato da Ubuntu, sto ancora facendo pratica con la mia Slackware 12.0.
Ho visto da un mio amico Conky, e piaciutami ho voluto installarlo pure io. Credendo che fosse facile installarlo come i pacchetti .deb di Ubuntu, non mi sono ancora fatto spiegare.
Sono andato nel sito di Conky, e mi sono scaricato la 1.7.1.1.
Leggendo e interpretando il file di Installazione, tramite terminale sono entrato nella directory che ho scricato e da root ho lanciato un ./configure che però mi ha dato il seguente errore:

DOPO aver seguito il consiglio di Toni, installa slackyd , aggiornalo con il comando
slackyd -u
e scarica i pacchetti e le relative dipendenze (in automatico) usando tale programma.

Offtopic: Io avrei optato per una 12.2, stabilissima con diverse correzioni e riconoscimenti di periferiche (ad esempio il mio dongle wireless) e con il repository slacky aggiornato (Slackware non ha i deb ma i tgz. La differenza principale lato utente è che i tgz non tracciano le dipendenze tra i pacchetti, cosa che fa l'ottimo tool "made in Slacky" slackyd)

Grazie intanto per le risposte.
Per Slackyd: per installarlo ho lanciato da terminale, sempre dopo essere entrato nella directory che lo conteneva nel mio utente un installpkg, perchè ho notato che terminava in .tgz. Risultato:
Cannot install ...tgz: pakage does not end in .tgz

Cos'è che ho fatto che non mi può installare questo pacchetto? In fondo finisce in .tgz!! :evil:

non gli serve l'md5 di conky 1.7.1 visto che lui sta scaricando e installando la 1.7.0 :D

prova a cambiare mirror, oppure dai:

$ slackyd -p
per ripulire la directory di slackyd, e poi prova di nuovo a scaricare conky... magari c'è stato un problema durante il download, comunque se fai caso, slackyd confronta l'md5 appena finisce il download, quindi ti puoi accorgere se il file scaricato è integro o meno...

un'ultima cosa, più che altro una mia curiosità :), hai messo i mirror per la 12.0 in slackyd, si??

Mi ricordo che quando ho finito di digitare il comando per installare conky, mi ha domandato di installare una marea di roba, o almeno di scaricarla.... Non so se potrebbe essere per questo...Forse perchè io ho slackware 12.0.???
