Chiavetta Toshiba PX1211E-1TVD

Salve a tutti,
ho qualche piccolo problema a far funzionare questa chiavetta dvb-t su Slackware.
Innanzitutto ho scaricato il firmware "dvb-usb-dibusb-6.0.0.8.fw" e l'ho posizionato nella directory "/lib/firmware" in modo da consentire l'autoload dello stesso al boot.

Dopo aver caricato con 'modprobe' i moduli "videodev", "v4l2-common" e "v4l1-compat" come suggerito dal file "/usr/src/linux-2.6.27.7/Documentation/dvb/faq.txt" e il modulo "mt2060" come suggerito sul forum di Slackware Italia (trovato cercando su google), ho inserito la chiave nella porta usb del mio laptop e dando:

Poi però quando tento di utilizzare un programma per vedere la tv (xine,kaffeine,vlc,kdetv) non riesco in nessun modo a vedere nulla.
Ho letto da qualche parte su google che è necessario scaricare i file con le liste dei canali o qualcosa del genere.
Qualcuno di voi ha o ha avuto lo stesso problema?

Nei messaggi che compaiono sul terminale non si nota nulla riferito al firmware; sei sicuro che quel ricevitore sia supportato da Linux?

In ogni caso, prova a scaricare i dati relativi ai MUX DVB-T ricevibili nella tua zona; li trovi nella sezione "Copertura" del sito http://www.dgtvi.it/stat/DGTVi/Page1.html

A questo punto, creati un file apposito prendendo spunto da quelli presenti in $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/dvb-t; il file deve essere salvato in quella stessa directory con un nome che inizia per it- (ad esempio, it-Gonars).
Se non sai che valori usare per fec_hi, fec_lo e simili, prova ad usare AUTO.

A questo punto, apri Kaffeine da un Terminale in modo da vedere se compaiono messaggi di errore durante la ricerca canali; seleziona il menu "DVB" - "Configura DVB". Se quel menu non compare, vuol dire che il tuo ricevitore non è stato rilevato da Linux; in caso contrario, seleziona il file it-Gonars che hai salvato prima e salva tutto. Poi vai sul menu "DVB" - "Canali" e prova a fare la ricerca ("Avvia scansione"); tieni presente però che quei ricevitorini su penna USB hanno prestazioni molto scarse e quindi richiedono un segnale d'antenna piuttosto forte.

innanzitutto grazie per la risposta esauriente.
Dunque, da quanto mi è parso di leggere su google, c'è qualcuno che è riuscito a farla funzionare.
Ieri aprendo kaffeine mi aveva riconosciuto il dispositivo ma oggi con mio gran stupore facendo le stesse operazioni e dando un "dmesg | tail", l'output è stato il seguente:

Rispetto a ieri non trova il frontend... Mah, forse mi sta sfuggendo qualcosina...
Forse qualche modulo che non mi ricordo di aver caricato...
Comunque posso confermare che kaffeine ieri lo aveva visto!!!


Per il resto mi sono scaricato i dati dal link che mi hai fornito... Proverò a crearmi il file.
Però adesso prima di tutto devo riuscire a capire cosa ho fatto ieri per farla riconoscere

Da quanto ho potuto leggere, la tua periferica è supportata da Linux ma, effettivamente, diversi utenti hanno segnalato problemi nel far riconoscere il frontend; un modo per risolvere questo problema consiste nel collegare la chiavetta prima di avviare il PC (in tal modo, tutti i moduli necessari dovrebbero essere caricati automaticamente).

Una volta che tutto è stato riconosciuto correttamente, non dovresti avere problemi nel fare la scansione dei canali presenti nella tua zona; ovviamente, però, con l'antennino in dotazione ci sono poche probabilità di trovare qualcosa.

Dunque,
inserendo la chiavetta all'avvio funziona.
O meglio, quando vado ad aprire kaffeine mi compare anche l'opzione TV Digitale; inoltre l'output da linea di comando, quando lancio kaffeine, è il seguente:

Premetto, ovviamente, di aver usato un'antenna più grande di quell'antennino dato in dotazione con la chiavetta. Ho provato addirittura a collegare l'antenna della tv di casa mia, ma il risultato è sempre lo stesso: 0 canali trovati.
Ora, presumo che il problema sia della chiavetta, così a naso, anche guardando l'output della scansione.
Forse è il caso che vi chieda nome e modello di una buona chiavetta supportata, o magari, in previsione dell'arrivo della banda larga nel mio paese (se mai arriverà), se esistono altri metodi per vedere la tv su pc, ad esempio tramite internet.
