Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Gnu/Linux in genere, se l'argomento è specifico alla Slackware usate uno dei forum Slackware o Slackware64.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

pero' vorrei abilitare USB e vorrei riuscire a montarmi la penna usb

forse ho sbagliato includere qualcosa nel kernel ?
(supponendo che la tua penna venga riconosciuta da devfs come sda, altrimenti usa sdb o sdc...a seconda di come ti viene riconosciuta nella sessione di lavoro in cui sei);
Allora,
alla sezione:
Device Drivers -> USB support ->
abilita:
1) Support for Host-side USB
2) EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) support
3) UHCI HCD (most Intel and VIA) support
4) USB Mass Storage support
Guarda il tuo lspci, ti dice che hai un USB 2.0 e un UHCI controller. Mass Storage support serve per le penne USB.
Nella sezione:
File systems -> DOS/FAT/NT Filesystems ->
abilita:
VFAT (Windows-95) fs support
e a
Default codepage for FAT
mettici 437
Da quello che ti dice il driver USB, sembra che il filesystem della tua pennina usi una codifica 437 degli USA.
Poi vai a
File systems -> Native Language Support ->
e abilita:
Codepage 437 (United States, Canada)
fai anche help su questa opzione per capire perchè è necessaria.

P.S. E' consigliato formattare una partizione DOS/WINDOWS con sistemi DOS/Windows, mentre le partizioni linux con sistemi linux. Per sapere perchè fai:
man fdisk è leggiti la sezione DOS 6.x WARNING.
